The dancing moving lights of the Australian outback. These bright round white orbs that sometimes change colour to green or red, follow cars keeping pace from the horizon.
They are unexplainable, and staying or flickering out at a moments notice, sometimes bright enough to cast shadows, or some have said assuming shapes like horses or men.
They seem…sentient, thinking, not just lights but alive, tracking travellers through desert sand and scrub. Sometimes a metre across or more.
The indigenous tribes know of them, rumours of old spirits, out in the night, playing some game as if to say ‘We See You, We’ll Keep You Company For A While’.
In a dark desert night, with only stars for light, a glowing orb travelling at great speed or jumping up and down can frighten not only the eyes but the soul.
